USB-RS232
Description
In order to program, monitor or configure any TRi brand of PLCs or peripherals such as the Ethernet XServer, your PC needs to have a RS232 serial port. Unfortunately, many newer laptop computers today do not have any built-in RS232 port but they do have built-in USB ports. In such cases you must purchase a USB-RS232 converter.

There are many brands of such converters in the market. Unfortunately not all of them work well with the TLServer, and some may not even work. The USB-RS232 converter we offer has been tested to work with the TLServer that runs on different brands of PCs in the past years. We are now offering this model to take the guess work out of buying the "right" USB-RS232 converter and recommend it for new users who do not already own such a converter.

▸ This serial converter offers a short cable length from the PC USB port and jack screw receptacles at the DB9 connector end. We recommend using the DB9 cable (shipped with all starter kits) for easy connection between the converter and the PLC.

▸ This converter is only used for converting a PC's USB port to RS232. It DOES NOT CONVERT a PLC's RS232 INTO a USB HOST port for connecting to say a mouse or a serial printer! USB to RS232 conversion is not a simple electrical interface changeover and therefore it is NOT possible for the PLC to interface to those standard USB peripherals such as a keyboard, a mouse or a USB printer.
